MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 26 mm, 12.47 g, 2 h), circa 76. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; between the snake heads, ΑΠ above monogram of ΠPY within wreath; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡΓ; to right, thyrsos entwined by a serpent. Kleiner 24. SNG Paris 1728. Large spot of decoloration on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
